As a parent, all crafts for my kiddos have to meet specific criteria so I don’t lose my mind. Honestly, crafting can be stressful and messy, but I also love the memory making. So crafting criteria number one, Valentine’s Day crafts need to be easy. I am talking about minimal supplies, a small number of steps to completion and mostly hands off for me. Secondly, I know messes are inevitable, but the craft cannot make a mess that takes longer to clean up than the craft itself. And lastly, the craft needs to be fun.
Having fun is essential for a good experience, but sometimes I have to remind myself that “hey this is their creation, if they are enjoying it that is all that matters”. Maybe I wouldn’t mix the colors to create a brown-grey before I paint, but again not my craft. Here is a list of cute and easy Valentine’s Day crafts that would pass my crafting criteria. I hope you and your family enjoy the memories and the beautiful creations.

Valentine’s Day Pasta Necklace
I love the idea that kids can paint their own “beads” and then wear it proudly. Also, I think you could either paint your beads first, let them dry and then string them OR string them and then paint them. You could even tape the string to the table or cardboard to prevent them from rolling around too much.
Pro Tip: If paint isn’t your thing – make a cereal or snack necklace! Use fruit loops, pretzels, heart marshmallows to make festive, edible jewelry. Would work great as a class party activity too.
Simple Valentine’s Friendship Necklaces
Ok another necklace craft, but this one has no paint and only requires yarn, beads and foam hearts. Additionally, you could even use cardboard to cut out any shape, then color it! This would be fun for kiddos to make and then give out as gifts to neighbor friends.

Pom Pom Valentine’s Day Crafts
When it doubt hit up Joann’s Craft Store for perfect little craft kits. These three Valentine’s Day crafts have all of your supplies included and you can even make them without glue. Win!
Love Bug Headband for Valentine’s Day
Kids love paper hats don’t they 🙂 I would opt to decorate these headbands with valentines day stickers and markers for easy clean up. All you need is paper and pipe cleaners after that! Extra points if you glue on googly eyes.
I love the cheap valentine’s day sticker books from Joann’s 315 Cute Stickers and 363 Food Stickers because you can tear out a page at a time.
Pro Tip: Remove the background surrounding the stickers before you hand the sticker sheet over to your kiddo to make it super easy for them to peel the stickers off themselves.
Collage Heart Art Project
Ok this adorable craft does require glue (don’t freak out). The end result is so unique to each child and you could string them up to make ornaments or a Valentine’s Day garland.
Supplies
Toilet Paper Roll Heart Stamping
All you need is a toilet paper roll, paper and paint. You could use the stamp to make a bouquet of flowers or balloons on a hot air balloon or just go full abstract and let the kiddos make their own design.
Easiest Valentine’s Day Crafts: Printable Coloring Pages
The easiest “craft” are new coloring pages! Therefore, when in doubt, print some free Valentine’s Day coloring pages and watch your kiddos jump right in.
Do the Valentine’s Day Crafts
Finally, I have adopted the idea that it’s ok, even recommended to start celebrating holidays before the actual day. That way if the craft goes south or someone gets a stomach bug plans aren’t ruined. Also, it gives you a chance to extend the fun for your kiddos across a few days. More days to celebrate more smiles and memories to be made with Valentine’s Day crafts.
